Definition of Monkey Mind
Monkey mind is a Buddhist term describing a mind that jumps from thought to thought like a monkey jumps from tree to tree. The monkey mind is not content with existing in the present moment, but rather engages in the thoughts that pass through.

I love Herman Hesse's writing. When I was in college, my buddy Angela & I named an acquaintance "Herman" in his honor.
Come to think of it, if you're not into Herman Hesse, this is a kind of unfortunate thing to happen to you.
But anyway, Narcissus and Goldmund is my favorite, and I will read his fairy tales to my kid when he's old enough.
